ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 23 (finale) spoilers: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and a snag
“Castle” can be an interesting show sometimes when it comes to giving things away. Before the finale, ABC was not particularly keen to give away much of anything away when it comes to the story leading up to the Castle – Beckett wedding. Now, they seem to have no problem at all when it comes to giving away almost everything when it comes to the actual story.
In the new sneak peek below, you can see the big reveal that Beckett is already married, and has been for years without even knowing it. The fact that this has happened on many shows (see “The Big Bang Theory” in addition to this one) is a little bit crazy. But, at least the clip suggests that there are some entertaining times that will come out of this.
This is not going to be your average episode of the show, and given that we have a wedding that we are dealing with here, it’s hard to be that upset about it. We like the focus being on the romance, and what happens when Beckett realizes that she is going to have to work extra hard in order to ensure that the wedding happens. As nice as the “Bones” ceremony was, there was one major critique that we had of it in that we didn’t quite feel like the show really did enough to give us a story all about the wedding. They threw a case in there, as well, and that felt strictly superfluous.

Other than not getting married, the scene with Martha giving her family heirloom ear rings was the best part. The rest of the hour was terrible. The writer’s messed up. The wedding should have taken place so Mr & Mrs. Castle could be on their honeymoon until the new season starts and there will be a new storyline rather than drag on this tired wedding plan.

Terry I couldn’t agree more with you, even I, who is a massive Castle fan was disappointed with the end as I found myself saying “not again” WHY does it have to always end in this dramatic way, for a change why can’t it end on a happy note so that we fans can still look forward to the new season with a SMILE.

“Bones” did the same “previously married bit” with two of their characters. All I want is a cute and resolved story and then the wedding. I don’t think they need to spend a ton of time on the ceremony, but who’s there and with who(m) and what venue, etc. Next year — a couple of good arcs and some character development with the rest of the cast — especially Martha and Gates.
