‘The Good Wife’ season 5, episode 20 preview: Julianna Margulies in ‘The Deep Web’

What’s going to be happening on Sunday’s new episode of “The Good Wife“? The title is “The Deep Web,” and there is going to be quite the tangled web woven by some of the characters on this show as we start to see more and more about what is happening at the firms.

First of all, let’s talk about Diane’s ever-increasing paranoia. She has a reason to be, given the state of flex right now at Lockhart/Gardner. Admittedly, though, what we are mostly excited for above all else is that Kalinda is finally going to have something further to do on the show. Despite being brilliant, Archie Panjabi’s character routinely tends to be one of the forgotten members of the cast.

Now, let’s touch on some controversy: Is Alicia really going to be moving on from Will? The scenes between Julianna Margulies and Nestor Carbonell (“Bates Motel”) definitely have people talking, but it feels like a mistake to make any sort of grand assumptions about what is going on for the two parties based on limited evidence. We do think, though, that she deserves a chance to explore and see what else could be out there for her eventually. After being in that marriage to Peter for as long as she has been, we personally feel like she has to be rather entitled to quite a bit at this point, in all honesty. We’ll find out what happens there tonight.
