White House Correspondents Dinner: President Obama mocks CNN’s Malaysia coverage, Richard Sherman

C-SPAN -Tonight, President Obama took to the stage in order to give a speech at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner, and he once again proved that he is one of the funniest Presidents out there. Regardless of whether or not you like his politics, he does manage to throw some barbs out there about all people.

During this speech, Obama mocked Republicans, Congress, MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, sporting events, and so much more. He also reflected on his time in office from start to finish, as he only has a short amount of time left in office.

Here are a few specific highlights from the speech.

  • “Between Two Ferns” – Obama did his entire routine between two ferns, and defended his decision to appear in the Zach Galifianakis web video.
  • HealthCare.gov – Of course, there were plenty of jokes at the expense of that website … and for good reason.
  • CNN’s coverage of Malaysia Flight 370 – To be fair, this is all CNN has talked about for a while.
  • Richard Sherman – This was a funny idea, but Obama’s Sherman probably leaves a little bit to be desired.
  • Chris Christie – Obama made a joke about Washington DC traffic, and tied it back to what happened back in Christie’s home state.
  • Rick Perry – Obama has not forgotten about some of Perry’s past comments on him.

All in all, this was one of Obama’s funniest and most-biting speeches at the dinner ever, and we really enjoyed it for the most part. Even after his Presidency is over, we hope Obama comes back for more of these … mostly because he at least gets what this event is about. Politics aside, we respect that.

We will have a full video of this entire speech soon. For some more highlights related to the dinner, be sure to visit the link here, and you can sign up now for more via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
