‘Doctor Who’ season 8 spoilers: Two new writers enter the fold
With “Doctor Who” still in production on its upcoming eighth season, finding out a whole lot details about what lies ahead is a little bit difficult. However, we are pleased still to report that there are some new writers who are on board to fulfill what has to be a childhood dream for many people: Getting the opportunity to pen an episode of the series.
Per a report from Doctor Who Magazine, Peter Harness and Jamie Mathieson are the two who are going to be getting this opportunity, which is also being held by none other than Mark Gatiss of “Sherlock” fame for an episode this season.
Conveniently, Jamie has a pretty interesting and sharp connection to the common themes of the series, as he has previously worked on the film Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel. Hopefully, he’ll be able to handle this world without a problem. Some of the larger storylines about season 8 are currently a mystery, but you can expect there to be some familiar villains, Peter Capaldi front and center for all stories, and also new characters that Steven Moffat has taken some time to cultivate.
Unfortunately, we are still sitting without a premiere date, and likely will be for some time. The common tradition when it comes to most British TV shows is to not unveil when things will be starting back up until a matter of a few short weeks before the premiere. Therefore, you will most likely be waiting for a while to see what lies ahead. For now, we would tentatively expect to see the show coming back on the air in the summer.
