Fans of “The Originals,” the wait for one of the show’s most-epic episodes to date is just about over. Tuesday night’s “Battle of New Orleans” will be the showdown involving the witches, the werewolves, and the vampires of the Big Easy that you have been long awaiting.
But, for some reason different characters choose to dress very differently for the occasion. In the case of Klaus, you’ve got him sporting his typical “look at me, I kick butt on a daily basis outfit,” while Elijah totally means business in this sharp suit. Why do you want to fight in that? Shouldn’t you save it for a better occasion / give it to us?
We liken this episode in some ways on the surface to “Blackwater,” the epic “Game of Thrones” episode 2 episode that really produced the proper buildup for the end of the season. There are few shows that can produce an entire episode presumably about a battle, and this is one of them. The only difference between this show and “Game of Thrones” is that we imagine now that we are probably going to have an episode that is equally-insane for The CW with the finale. Usually, season-enders for “Game of Thrones” give you some time to calm down and prepare for what lies ahead.
“The Originals” needs a huge episode at this point to really silence some of the critics. The ratings have been down without Claire Holt, and it needs a jaw-dropper to encourage everyone to stay on board. Maybe this hour will provide just that.
