MTV’s ‘Awkward.’ season 4 spoilers: A surprising (possible) love interest

Are you ready to meet yet another new face in the world of “Awkward.”? We hope so, since this is ultimately what the focus of this story is going to be. There is another new character entering the community, but it’s a little bit of a different one than you’re accustomed to.

According to a new report from E! News, the show is going to be introducing the new role of Natalie a little later this season. She is a single mom, and given that she is close to 30 years old, you would think that she wouldn’t be thinking about hooking up with someone in high school. On the contrary! She actually shares a few moment interesting moments with one of the guys at a New Year’s Eve party, the hijinks take off at some point from there.She’ll have a role in multiple episodes, even if the future beyond this initial “meeting” between the two is still up in the air.

Should we really be surprised about this idea for a character at all? You shouldn’t, mostly because the show is all about trying to expand character horizons in many ways with graduation looming. Jenna is going to making college visits soon, and she is going to start figuring out that Matty is not her only option for a happily ever after. Every character will start to realize that there is a big world out there for themselves, and they just have to be willing to explore in it.
