‘Mad Men’ season 7, episode 4 preview: Is Vincent Kartheiser’s Pete back in action?
Despite being at times confused by Sunday night’s “Mad Men” episode, we still have to admit that we by and large rather enjoyed it. It focused on Don getting back to work, saw his relationship near the finish line, and also reminded us that Betty is still around and has a role to play.
The new episode airing next week entitled “The Monolith” looks to also be a big one when it comes to pushing the story forward, and also will bring back Pete Campbell to the fold after a week away. Given that we are enormous fans of Vincent Kartheiser and all of the work that he does, this excites us greatly. So does the title: Monoliths typically suggest something big and dramatic, and that is something that probably at least has some significance in this story.
AMC may not give away much in their synopses (their promos are even worse), but you can see the latest one below:
“Sterling Cooper & Partners prepares for a guest; Don contacts an old friend; Roger deals with problems at home; Peggy is underestimated.”
So who is Don’s “old friend”? Anytime that we hear those two words with him, it almost automatically suggests to us that there is some sort of trouble on the horizon and we really hope that is not the case here. He’s already dug himself a deep enough hole, and it may be nice to see personal-growth Don for at least a little while. After all, he will probably need more horrible things to happen to him eventually. (That is this show most of the time.)
