‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: Another shift lies ahead

More news -When “The Walking Dead” season 5 premieres in the fall, it’s not going to be in any way the same show you saw during season 4. When you hear this about some other shows, it may be a legitimate cause of concern since you don’t want something you enjoy to change too much over time.

However, for this series it is really more part for the course. “The Walking Dead” thrives on change, whether you are talking about the different showrunners or what we ended up seeing in regards to the individual character stories at the start of season 4B. This brought the show to a new place, and that is coming up again based on what current showrunner Scott M. Gimple said recently. Just take a look now at his latest comments, which come to us via the Walking Deadcast:

“I guess I can say, from a vibe point of view, the first eight of Season 4 were one thing, the second eight were something very different. These next eight are going to be something very different again. Things are just going to have a much different tone and a much different practical reality moving forward. The season has a number of shifts of location, and even of the tone. But the tone for most of the season is very, very, very intense. [It’s] going to be very different from the last half-season, and I loved the last half season, but it was always planned out in my head that there would be these big shifts, and we’re about to have one of those big shifts.”

Does all of this news have us more excited about the future of the show? So long as all the changes still keep the story true to the characters, then yes. The challenge is that sooner or later, you may worry that you have changed things a little too much so that it doesn’t feel like you are watching the same thing anymore.
