NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 7: Adam Levine jokes about future, Gwen Stefani hire
There is something so bizarre and entertaining still about watching the confirmation process play out for the future of “The Voice,” mostly because it is one of those situations where everyone knows what is going to play out, but nobody is allowed to really say anything yet.
A great example of that comes from this week’s appearance of Adam Levine on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where he came about as close as he possibly can to confirming that he is going to be a part of the show in the future … but he still has to “check his schedule.” There’s no reason to think that neither Adam nor Blake Shelton will depart at this point, since they probably would have announced it by now.
Also, Adam could not technically talk about Gwen Stefani being on the show yet for the same sort of reason; unlike Pharrell, she has not been officially confirmed. However, a new story from The Hollywood Reporter claims that she opted to replace Christina Aguilera on this show while she is having a child rather than going over to the new ABC competition “Rising Star.” This show is having a hard time securing the talent that they want right now. Both Pitbull and Luke Bryan have already said no to being a part of the prospective competition, and they are now hoping to get people like will.i.am (who is now a part of “The Voice” UK) and also Kesha to take part in the show. Personally, we like some of the ideas of this show (including having a way to really make it real-time for viewers to get involve), but it’s probably going to tank. There are already too many singing shows on the air as is.
We’ll be back tomorrow with our contestant rankings for the remaining contestants on “The Voice” this season, and you can get those over at the link here. Also, be sure to sign up to get some further TV updates worth singing about!
