ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: First look at Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic in ‘Veritas’

There are many reasons to look up to an episode of “Castle,” but when it comes to “Veritas” coming on the air a week from Monday, those reasons are amplified even further. You have an episode that will touch on some serious issues when it comes to the Beckett character, and we’re not giving anything away here that ABC has wanted hidden. They’ve teased in press releases already that the case of her mother’s death is going to factor into everything that happens.

So what is notable about the promotional images put out by ABC for this episode? The image above comes from a scene that features Lanie, Castle, Beckett, and Captain Gates, with the biggest reveal being that Gates is actually out in the field. You know that you are dealing with something that is a rather big deal when something like this is happening.

Unfortunately, these images disappoint when it comes to doing anything other than showing that Penny Johnson Jerald and Tamala Jones will get some airtime alongside Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. There is no suggestion about the connections to the case at hand in Beckett’s mother, or if this story could have some sort of button put on it before Beckett walks down the aisle. Her big wedding is something that has already been teased for the finale, and while there are some hints that everything could go off without a hitch, there are also still reasons to be afraid about a few things here and there going off the rails before the vows are read and the characters are man and wife.
