‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10, episode 21 preview: Alex defends his decision
There is a part of the sneak peek below from Thursday’s “Grey’s Anatomy” episode that is particularly chilling. For example, this marks the first time that we have seen Arizona on an airplane since the events that happened in “Flight” (a.k.a. the most horrific episode of the show to date).
What’s interesting, though, is that this is not what Arizona seems to think about at all while being aboard the flight with Alex. Instead, she remembers the first time that the two were on a plane together years ago in what seems to be an emotional plea in order to convince him to stick around the hospital … or at least this is what it seems to be.
In the end, this episode raises some interesting questions in regards to whether doctors should go for the money or the duty of helping others, and we fully understand both perspectives. Alex has a lot of bills to pay, and there’s no blaming him for wanting to get into some better financial security with a private practice job that eases up his schedule a little bit. Arizona loves her job clearly, and understands the value of being on the front line trying to save lives.
In the end, we expect Alex to eventually lean towards staying around the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital, if only because that is the focus on the show. Suddenly throwing in a separate story all about Alex doesn’t really seem to be something that is all that feasible to do given how many cast members there are.
