‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7: Exec on future plans, finale, and more
As we near the end of “The Big Bang Theory” season 7, there are still many questions to be answered, but also things to look forward to. Many of these characters are going to continue to experience change in their lives, whether that means romantically, professionally, or in some other capacity.
Executive producer Steve Molaro recently gave an interview with The Hollywood Reporter talking about the series’ run now and in the future, and there are a number of important points in here.
1. Expect some sort of cliffhanger ending for the season, but Molaro claims that it has nothing to do with the fact that many actors still have not signed on for the next three seasons. Those negotiations will almost surely get done, thanks to just how much money this show makes for everyone.
2. Laura Spencer (Emily) is going to have a big role for a while to come, potentially into season 8 as Emily. However, don’t rule Kate Micucci out, either. Molaro wanted to use her more this season, but schedule issues rendered it impossible.
3. There is still no plan to introduce a kid into the show anytime soon, despite Howard and Bernadette being married for a little while.
4. Of course, Leonard and Penny’s future will also be addressed further.
5. Molaro gave the following quote on the subject of it season 10 will for sure be the last: “You never know. I’m going to move forward along with [co-creator/EP] Chuck [Lorre] that 10 is the end unless we’re told otherwise. These are decisions that are so far away I can’t really even think about that. I have no choice but to move forward … it’s so far away (laughs). The mindset is it’s going to be the 10 and then we’ll see what happens after that.”
