‘Chicago PD’ spoilers: A look ahead to a shocking finale

Are there some surprises ahead for fans of “Chicago PD” this season? It sure seems like it, at least based on some of the details that are coming out now. Even though this may just be the show’s first season, the writers and producers have done a pretty bang-up job of ensuring that there is tension between the characters, and also the potential to surprise many by just how dark they are willing to go. Remember, this is more of a gritty police drama than one of the stereotypical whodunnit shows (not the “Whodunnit?” show, which was awesome) that are out there.

The tease that we have for you today comes from an interview star Jason Beghe gave to TV Guide, where he teases some pretty crazy things for the Voight character (even when you consider what you already know about him):

“There’s an awful cliff-hanger… that may be disturbing to some people … Did he do it or didn’t he do it, and what’s he capable of?”

There are also some added elements to the “Chicago PD” finale that are not even airing on “Chicago PD” itself, and that is courtesy of the news that Sophia Bush is going to cross over to “Chicago Fire” one more time near the end of its season. One of the smart things that Dick Wolf and company have done with this show almost right out of the gate is ensured that it can stand on its own, but also be a part of a larger universe. In including characters across multiple shows, it gives you an extra incentive to watch all of them. It’s almost like a gold star!
