‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: Even Chandler Riggs is still in the dark
Do you want to know what is going to transpire on “The Walking Dead” season 5? You’re not the only one. One of the biggest surprises is that some of the cast members are still very much in the dark about what is coming up for their characters, and it doesn’t quite matter if they have a series regular title before their name or not.
One of these said people is the young man behind Carl in Chandler Riggs, who had a crazy season 4 in between being on the own with his did, having an insane amount of pudding, and then that pretty terrifying situation in the finale where Rick basically had to murder his way to saving his life.
Speaking per SpoilerTV while at Salt Lake Comic Con over the weekend, Riggs made it clear that he hasn’t even had the opportunity to read any material for the season yet even if he wanted to:
“I haven’t gotten the scripts for the next season yet … I really don’t know so we’ll see. I want to know what happens, too.”
Riggs also talked a little about the challenge of working on an episode like 4×09, which was almost entirely about his character and forced him to do quite a bit, including yelling at his unconscious father for a lengthy period of time:
“It was funny because that entire episode I was used to not having that many lines and just learning them on the set. While I was getting wired that day, I pulled out my sides and realized I had two and a half pages of lines to memorize – in about an hour. That was really interesting. But I was able to charge my way through that and get it done.”
For those missing “The Walking Dead,” the one thing that we can clue you in on right now is that you’re not going to be waiting too much longer for the series to start up production again. Filming typically resumes in the spring, and the new seasons premiere in October.
