‘The Originals’ spoilers: Get some surprising season 2 scoop

Originals -How in the world is there news already on “The Originals” season 2? Let’s just say that the show is operating a little bit differently than the average network drama. Typically, shows go on a lengthy hiatus for a few months after production ends, but the show is doing something different here in filming at least the first few episodes of season 2 early.

What gives? While it’s not confirmed, we have speculated that Daniel Gillies’ other full-time job on “Saving Hope” (which came before this show began) may have something to do with it. Seriously, the guy has two full-time jobs. In the TV business, that’s called “being so exhausted you can barely stand up.”

What does come out of this that is beneficial is that we do have for you today some of the first casting intel on the new season. According to E! News, the series is casting now the part of Kaleb, a man described as a “paranormal psychologist” for the episodes ahead. There’s always a twist or an added wrinkle when it comes to these people, and the one here is that he is not going to be around to try to make friends with Klaus and company. He’s like a reality TV cliche then! (Cheers if you get the reference.)

Despite the early start date for filming, it is probably still quite a while until “The Originals” comes back on the air. The CW, despite lower ratings for the show this week, are not going to burn off something that they love in the summer. It’ll be around again in the fall, and we doubt that it’ll have a night change since for the most part, this has worked well for them.  Our biggest question is whether or not “Arrow” and “The Flash” are going to be ultimately grouped together.
