‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 notes: Ian Somerhalder’s message, Nina Dobrev’s new gig
When you work on “The Vampire Diaries,” you really have to be grateful whenever you have a break. After all, it’s not exactly something that comes up very often. This is an intense show to work on, whether you are talking about the long hours (which includes overnight shoots), being away from friends and family in Atlanta, or some of the action-heavy scenes that either leave you exhausted or in little clothing in some cases.
Granted, you’re also getting paid handsomely … but that doesn’t mean that you can work like a machine 24/7. Everyone needs a break, and a few days ago, everyone on the cast officially got one courtesy of the end of filming anything and everything for season 5. Ian Somerhalder created a post all about it on Instagram, complete with many exclamation points:
“IT’S A WRAP!!!!DAMON SALVATORE AND IAN SOMERHALDER ARE OFFICIALLY WRAPPED-SEASON #5 is DONE. To the most amazing group of people in this business, THANK YOU.THANK YOU. THANK YOU!!!! Thanks for an amazing year of storytelling and thank you to out AUDIENCE-WITHOUT YOU, WE ARE NOTHING.”
Just don’t start to think that Ian’s idea of relaxing is going to be sitting around at all. Typically, his summers include filming in various cities, doing events to help raise awareness for environmental issues, and also attending fan events.
Nina Dobrev news – As for Ian’s co-star and current onscreen love interest, Nina has booked herself another movie role to follow what she did last summer in “Let’s Be Cops.” The Hollywood Reporter claims that Dobrev is joining the cast of “The Final Girls,” which is a cool concept about a girl who is transported with her friends into the world of a 1980s horror movie, which at one point starred her recently-deceased mom. They have to find a way to survive their new circumstances.
Nina’s got a great cast around her including Thomas Middleditch, Malin Akerman, and “American Horror Story: Coven” star Taissa Farmiga.
