‘Britain’s Got Talent’ premiere delayed due to football; when does it air now?

More news -For all of you looking for Saturday’s premiere of “Britain’s Got Talent” on ITV this afternoon, there’s some breaking news in the department of “why in the world the show isn’t on the air right now”: It’s delayed thanks to football. This is something that we see happen in North America quite often thanks to shows and sporting events, but typically, it is a different type of football that we are talking about.

Thanks to the ITV Sport presentation running over, you will see the show now most likely start on the network at around 7:45 p.m. local time, and it will run through to 9:00. This is a change of 30 minutes from the original plan, which isn’t too substantial but still annoying for some. Remember that this is a rough estimate, though, and like most other scheduling pushbacks due to sporting events, it’s somewhat flexible and can change.

So why not give the show a firm “new” start time? The simple answer is that they want to ensure that there are a ton of people who decide to keep their TVs on after watching Arsenal, and then shift right over to the talent show. ITV doesn’t want there to be any waiting in between, and we understand that completely. The internet of course has already expressed their displeasure about this move, or at least the ones who are not football fans have. The sad truth here for most countries around the world is that sporting events will always be prioritized above original shows, at least so long as they are popular sports.

Update: The game continues. The thirty minutes is likely to come and go thanks to a penalty.
