‘Dancing with the Stars’ executive producer Conrad Green leaving for ‘Utopia’

HereConrad Green has seen the highs and the lows of “Dancing with the Stars.” He’s watched the great TV moments, and also been forced into dealing with shenanigans from contestants with a laundry list of diva demands.

At some point, it was fair to assume that the time would come for him to say goodbye … and that time appears to be now. It has been confirmed now that Green is leaving the ABC competition in order to work on “Utopia,” a show from “Big Brother” creator John del Mol that will take 15 people and force them to build their own civilization in an undisclosed location. There will be the same sort of reality TV tropes like eliminations that take place, but the real shocker here is that these people will have literally an entire year to be a part of this experiment. We thought that “Big Brother” contestants had a crazy time being trapped somewhere for just a few months … let alone for a full year.

Green has ultimately had himself a pretty rough past few months, mostly because of the fact that he has been forced to deal with replacing the band on the ballroom competition, and then the co-host after Brooke Burke-Charvet was let go of her duties. Erin Andrews ultimately took over. If there is a guy who deserves a shot at another reality show, it’s him.

Unfortunately, it’s far too early to tell whether or “Utopia” is something that’s going to be any good. For the time being, all we can really say about it is that it’s something that should be worth watching out for in the weeks and months ahead.

“Dancing with the Stars” is still airing on Monday nights, and Green will finish work there this season. If you want to get some more updates from us at CarterMatt sent right to your email, then sign up now for our official newsletter.
