We cannot even put into words right now how awesome we find some of the material out there for the “Castle” episode “That 70’s Show.” Maybe this will be one of those things that looks great on paper and ends up being horribly cheesy, but we’re trying desperately to not think that way right now.
Instead, let’s just embrace how awesome these 1970s-inspired costumes are! In case you haven’t heard, the basic premise of this story is that Castle, Beckett, and the entire team at the precinct have to go back in time in order to appease an important person in a case, who is stuck in a delusion that time has not traveled forward at all over the past several decades.
There are so many great outfits in here, we’re having a hard time picking a favorite. We love the commitment with Ryan and Esposito, just as we also love whatever it is that Castle has going on with that jacket, or Beckett with the striped pants. The folks in the costume department probably thought it was Christmas morning when they found out what was going to happen in this episode, given that most of the time, suits, pantsuits, and other forms of suits are the name of the game with this show. When you work as detectives, it’s hard to have an excuse to do anything fun.
Now that we’ve said all this, here’s one extra item for our wishlist: While this case looks like it’ll be a blast, can we have another Caskett wedding tease? Given that there are only four more episodes this season, that’s not much time to resolve some of these loose ends. Some of them, like 3XK, can be put off. The wedding cannot.
