‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3, episode 17 preview: Hook, Emma, and another favor

Just in case you were wondering when Captain Hook was going to be flirting again with Emma on “Once Upon a Time,” we’ve got an answer for you now: It’ll be coming in the show’s new episode Sunday night. Granted, it’s not too pressing (after all, she did just lose Neal), and there is a larger purpose at hand that is going to keep “Captain Swan” on the backburner for a little while longer.

So what is this particular distraction? As the sneak peek below reveals, it is Emma needing to learn the ways of magic in order to ensure that she is able to join Regina and try to stop the Wicked Witch once and for all. With their powers combined like a Storybrooke version of Captain Planet, they may be able to pull something off if they do it together.

The biggest twist to the entire scene, though, is what Emma says after this: She still has every plan in the world right now to go with Henry once this is over right out of Storybrooke once and for all, and take Henry with her back to New York. As for the reason why she is doing this in particular, it shouldn’t be all that hard to figure out: She wants a new opportunity at a life for him without villains, and probably feels like he will get it there, where he still has his innocence and friends. We don’t blame her for this philosophy, but it’ll be hard to execute.
