‘Bones’ season 9, episode 20 video: Wendell returns with a new look

Monday night’s “Bones” once again has the challenge of airing against two reality juggernauts in “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Voice.” The good news? There is no longer any more competition from “How I Met Your Mother,” and that will hopefully lead to the ratings bouncing back a little bit. We know that the show has already been renewed, but we want to see it go out with a big bang that it can really be proud of, whenever that series finale may be.

Before we start thinking too much about the future, though, we have a story to get to that airs Monday night! In the video below, you can see what is going to be one of the big headlines from this particular hour, as Wendell will be surfacing again at the Jeffersonian after beginning some of his cancer treatments. Obviously, the rough news for him is that he is still trying to deal with the aftermath of that, being sick, and also being around someone in Dr. Brennan who is not entirely the master of bedside manner. However, the good news is that he seems to be upbeat still, and prefers actually being at work and helping to solve crimes than going to chemotherapy and worrying over his mortality.

In addition to this story, “The High in the Low” also tackles another story that is very fitting given the episode’s title: Marijuana use. You can read a little more about that here, and it should produce some moments for the series that are both funny and serious.
