ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3, episode 17 video: Drunk Mellie, and Cyrus’ plea

With there only being two episodes of “Scandal” left before the show wraps things up on ABC, one thing is pretty clear right now: The entire Grant family is in a heck of a desperate situation. They only have so much time to stabilize the ship before the election, and even though there are fewer threats than there once was, not everything is guaranteed to go their way.

Want one quick example of that? How about the fact that Mellie Grant is clearly being driven to drink again after putting up with her husband’s shenanigans / orders from Olivia Pope to not cause any problems? She can’t have Andrew anymore, and she literally has nothing other than the command to “stand by her man.” Her children barely stand her, as well, in the wake of her affair. There is no real reason for her to care about anything at this point so long as she goes out and puts on a good face in the public.

As for another problem facing Fitz, the sneak peek below from “Flesh and Blood” is almost a plea from Cyrus to Fitz in order to make things work. He is someone who has clearly lost almost everything that matters to him, save for his job at the White House. It’s the only thing that really keeps him going now that he doesn’t have James in his life.

No matter what happens over the final two episodes, the one thing that we can definitely promise here is this: We are looking at a crazy ride the rest of the way.
