‘The Musketeers’ season 2: Some early updates on production
While you may still be waiting months to see the return of “The Musketeers” for another season here in America, we do come bearing good news for all of you already looking for some updates when it comes to the show’s season 2 progress.
Here is what we know now for all of you interested in a progress report. The rough window for production is when it comes to table reads and scripts being handed out, the wheels have already been put into motion. Meanwhile, filming starts very soon, and will continue until the late fall. This gives the show around a 6-7 month production window, which is on par with “Downton Abbey” and many other British dramas. In some ways, this is what makes the show a little more appealing for actors than American dramas; while you may at times have smaller viewerships, you have better contract flexibility, and an opportunity to do a variety of different things.
One interesting thing to keep watch on when it comes to this series is figuring out more and more when it comes to relying on the Alexandre Dumas story, and also establishing your own tone and voice at the same time. The longer that the show is on the air, the more temptation is going to be there for you to shift some things around here and there and give the show its own flavor. If handled the right way, this could be brilliant in the same way that it is “The Walking Dead.”
