‘True Blood’ season 7: The show buries itself in first promo (video)
We know now that the final season of “True Blood” is going to premiere on HBO come Sunday, June 22 … but HBO is not going to be so mean as to make you wait until then to see some sort of promo. Unfortunately, this isn’t one that includes any new footage.
Instead, the video below features the show basically making the move to bury itself six feet under (ironic for fans of HBO’s history), and it lies at a graveyard that also features such people as Terry Bellefleur, Sookie’s parents and grandmother, Lafayette’s dead boyfriend Jesus, and Sam’s former girlfriend Luna. There are many more gravestones that could have been included in this ceremony, but they are more for the people who are more known for causing evil than good (Russell Edgington, Marnie).
Is this meant to be some sort of cold warning that everyone is going to die by the time the series comes to a close? We don’t quite see it that way at all. Instead, we view this as more of a cold reminder that the show is coming to an end using the sort of gruesome, cruel humor that you have really come to expect from this show over the years. With that being said, there is almost certainly going to be at least a few characters who don’t make it through this season alive. That is the “True Blood” way, and it will be even more so when the show really doesn’t have anything to lose or hold back anymore.
What do you think is going to transpire on the final “True Blood” season, and who do you think is the most at risk of being buried? (We worry for some reason for Eric and Jason immensely.)
