‘The X Factor’ USA: Alex & Sierra on new album, writing Harry Styles song

We teased over the weekend that there would likely be some Alex & Sierra coverage that came out of the two parties visiting the Kids’ Choice Awards, and we’re now making good on that. The two did some interviews, and in the process  gave a tiny bit of insight regarding their future beyond “The X Factor” USA.

Speaking in a new chat with Hollywire on the awards shows’ red carpet, Sierra Deaton specifically spoke on how they are done with at least one important stage of the process in choosing the write songs to put on the sic:

“It’s been really fun. We’re done writing for the album, so now it’s just picking the songs that make it and which ones are bonus tracks. It’s been really fun being able to do our own music instead of just doing covers.”

Sierra also added that they were uncertain at this time if a song from One Direction member Harry Styles will be included on the disc, mostly because of the simple fact that they have so many other songs that they have written themselves to choose from. They will likely have their list closer to finalized later in the spring, and then the process could start to speed up a little. There is no release date out there just yet, but Simon Cowell has been intent on making sure that they have the time that they need. Also, it doesn’t seem like the cancellation of “The X Factor” on Fox is going to have too much of a bearing on whether or not they are promoted.
