NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Pharrell Williams replaces Cee Lo Green for season 7; happy?

The latest -Ladies and gentlemen, “The Voice” has shown you how to handle a job search with both patience and class at the same time. There were no incessant rumors about salary demands or possible candidates; instead, the show went about its business, and have officially hired someone to replace Cee Lo Green who is going to do an amazing job in Pharrell Williams.

The “Happy” singer, who is coming off of a huge 2013 with the success of “Get Lucky” and “Blurred Lines,” will be with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and presumably Christina Aguilera. While she is expecting her second child, there haven’t been any reports about her pregnancy impacting the show.

We cannot say enough good things about the Pharrell hire. We understand that there are some flashier personalities out there, but this is a guy who is extremely current, has been around the industry for decades, and is a producer in addition to a writer and performer. He’s going to really be able to help artists on his team become better, and if we were a contestant trying out for the show, we’re actually pretty sure we would pick him over the other coaches. He may not have the fanatic following that Blake Shelton does, but he’s going to prepare you very well for a career. Plus, he has an awesome hat.

“The Voice” will likely film its latest round of blind auditions in the summer, with the new season premiering this fall. There will likely be some dates shifted around somewhere to accommodate Christina, but given that producers went through this with Shakira last year, they are prepared for how to handle it.
