‘The Good Wife’ season 5, episode 17 preview: Julianna Margulies and ‘A Material World’

The latest -You’ve had a good bit of time now to try to start digesting everything that transpired on “The Good Wife,” and now, CBS is giving you two weeks to try to let your mind unravel.

While Josh Charles is not going to be on the show anymore, this little break should not be evidence to you at all that there are considerations as to if the storyline of Will’s death should be stopped. It won’t be. Rather, it appears as though the show is going to continue to press this story as hard as they possibly can in “A Material World” in two weeks. This is a story that will provide more information as to the future of the firm, and based on the promo below, inject even more honesty into the relationship between Peter and Alicia.

Just in case you hadn’t seen it already, you can take a look at the full synopsis below:

“Alicia and Diane consider merging their firms in the wake of Will’s death, even as they find themselves on opposite sides of a contentious divorce suit. Meanwhile, Alicia offers assistance to Finn when it becomes clear that the State’s Attorney is looking for a scapegoat in the Jeffrey Grant case.”

Given that the show will never be the same moving forward, we expect all sorts of shocking developments the rest of the way. We’re just pleased that the writers seem to be navigating this entire story in a smart, sensible way, and are not shelving Will’s death or leaving out any of the professional consequences that it causes.
