‘The Newsroom’ season 3: Jeff Daniels, cast start shooting next month
As many longtime CarterMatt readers are probably aware of by now, “The Newsroom” is one of our favorite things on television. We love everything from the writing to the performances to the take on the modern state of the media. We are very well aware that the show is not everyone’s cup of tea, but if they don’t like, we’ll just steal away their cups and drink their tea, too.
Now, we are very happy to say that production is almost hear. It has been known for some time that work would begin for the cast in April, but Jeff Daniels made it very clear this week that work was right around the bend courtesy of a new post on his Twitter account:
“The eagle has landed. In a 42′ RV. Let Season 3 begin. #Newsroom.”
In case you are wondering the reference, Daniels is an avid RV aficionado, and travels in one almost everywhere around the country. He may even be willing to give a speech about how RVs are the greatest vehicles in the world (or so we hope).
There are many details about this upcoming season that are still a mystery, including even the episode count. All we can say for now is that it will air most likely later in the year, and that there should be some casting information out there fairly soon. It was a lengthy delay before HBO would even confirm that the series was coming back at all, with the primary reason for that being trying to negotiate schedules with the cast and creator Aaron Sorkin, who has this habit for keeping himself insanely busy. He has a Steve Jobs biopic also coming down the pipeline.
