‘True Blood’ season 7 spoilers: Who is ‘The Figure’?
Every hero needs a villain … or in the case of “True Blood,” many villains. This show churns out bad guys faster than almost anyone, mostly because they have a hard time making it through multiple seasons. Just look at Russell Edgington (who manged to at least survive two), or the first woman named Marnie to appear on an HBO show.
While we cannot quite say for sure that “The Figure” is going to be the big bad this time around in the same way that Warlow or Sarah Newlin was last season, he will at least have a presence. TVLine describes this guy as “scary, hulking, ugly, mean, and crafty,” and then goes on to describe him as a talking version of Leatherface. Their twist in the story is that while this role is being cast now, the character technically will premiere in the first episode of the season. Our guess here is that you are probably going to see something a la a shadow or a silhouette of the character in the first episode … it’s either that or it will be edited in post-production. (Why not just cast the character earlier then?)
“True Blood” season 7 will premiere on HBO at some point this June, and we will have some more news and updates about it soon. While you think about The Figure, it would also behoove you to remember that Sarah Newlin is very much alive, and given that we are likely to meet some of her family members at some point, her story is probably not over and Jason Stackhouse may ultimately regret allowing her to live.
