‘Bones’ season 9, episode 18 preview: Is this one of the strangest cases ever?
For those unfamiliar with horticulture, kudzu is a pretty dangerous weed-like plant in that it can spread and grow at an extremely rapid pace … and apparently, also just so happens to be a place where you can hide a dead body. The benefit of doing so for whoever the killer was in this case, at least based on some of the initial examination from Clark (who is apparently getting into the world of mystery writing) and Hodgins, is that doing this allows for a body to decompose at a rate that is far more rapid than it would otherwise. It also keeps the plant alive to continue spreading.
We imagine that this is going to be quite a difficult one for the team at the Jeffersonian to figure out, given that you have a killer who is obviously recent intelligent when it comes to plant life, and was careful enough to try to place a body somewhere it could not be discovered quickly. If they were this careful when it comes to disposing the body, we imagine that they are just as careful when it comes to almost everything else. Good luck to Booth and Brennan here.
