‘The Mentalist’ season 6: First look at ‘Game of Thrones’ star as Lisbon’s new beau

Much to the chagrin of many diehard fans of “The Mentalist,” Lisbon could be getting a boyfriend pretty soon … and his name does not include the words “Patrick” or “Jane.”

So who could this mystery man be? As you may know already, his name is Agent Pike, and he is played by Pedro Pascal, the actor best known for both “Graceland” and his upcoming turn as the Red Viper on “Game of Thrones.” He will first surface in the March 30 episode, and will waste very little time getting close to Jane’s longtime partner and occasional target of mild flirtation.

Is the arrival of this character going to come at an awkward time? To an extent yes, given that Jane and Lisbon have a number of other challenges that they are going to be taking on during this same episode. According to TVLine (who also first posted the photo above), Simon Baker and Robin Tunney’s characters are going to be forced to go undercover as a couple in order to try to take down some very deadly art themes. We could understand some serious awkwardness that happens here.

While fans may be upset about this idea, we feel like there is something very good that could come out of Lisbon getting a new love interest: Sometimes, people need a wake-up call in order to really understand how they feel about someone. This could really be it for Jane, since he loves to live so much in his own world and expects at times things to bend to his will. Life is not always easy like that, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.
