NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 6: Chris Martin of Coldplay involved in new twist

The latest -Here is something that we never saw coming a mile away: Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who has not seemed the least bit interested in many singing shows over the years, actually joining one of them for a brief advising role. It also involves a new twist to “The Voice” that is going to bring forth more and more of the famous battles.

Sources confirm that Martin is going to appear in what is the latest twist for the show: A second round of battles, which may be replacing the Knockout Rounds starting at the end of the month. Martin will be the guest adviser to all of the coaches, and help to advise the remaining contestants on how to move forward. He definitely knows a thing or two about success in the music industry; Coldplay has sold millions around the world, and his touring earnings but even some of the coaches on the show to shame worldwide. He’s also married to a Hollywood superstar, and has perfectly balanced out the art of being relatable while still coming across as huge, unobtainable rock star.

There is a little bit of happenstance in Martin’s decision to appear now, as Coldplay is starting to get closer to releasing some new music. He needs to be in the spotlight a little bit more, and this is one of the best ways for him to do that … even more so than “American Idol.” (Hey, they already have Randy Jackson as a mentor there … good luck with that.)

“The Voice” will air its next new episode of the standard battle rounds on Monday night, and for now, click here to read some more news and reviews related to the show. Also, sign up for our newsletter to get more news worth celebrating via email.
