‘Criminal Minds’ season 9 spoilers: More on ‘The Edge of Winter,’ ‘Blood Relations’
It has been a while since we’ve had some genuine “Criminal Minds” scoop to pass along beyond the recent renewal for season 10, and with that in mind, why not try to make up for it today with some details about a pair of episodes that are coming up in the future.
“The Edge of Winter” – This is an installment that will air on CBS Wednesday night, and not only will it be Morgan-centric, but also takes you more into what happens after a case is seemingly closed. The official synopsis from the network reads as follows: “As the BAU wraps up an investigation into unusual stabbings in Upstate New York, Morgan’s visit with one of the crime’s survivors could uncover more questions left for the team to answer.” Getting a murder case wrong is hardly new ground for a show to cover, here’s to hoping there are another few wrinkles that “Criminal Minds” can at least give the issue.
“Blood Relations” – After “The Edge of Winter,” expect a week off for the show before it picks up with this one. Matthew Gray Gubler will direct a story that has a very “Hatfields & McCoys” vibe to it, expect it takes place in the modern day and the actions of a few are even more sinister: “When two murder victims are found in a backwoods community in West Virginia, the BAU uncovers a long-simmering feud between two families and must investigate which side could be responsible for the deaths.” It’s a little early to tell on the story, but Gubler has done some fine work directing in the past. Plus, we love the nature of the pun in the title.
