‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: Familiar foe to Mariska Hargitay’s Benson returns

Law & Order: SVU logoBased on the last time that we saw William Lewis on “Law & Order: SVU” this season, did you really think that we were done seeing the character? It looked like he was getting set to escape from prison the last time that we saw him, and that prophecy is seemingly about to come true.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Pablo Schreiber is going to return to the NBC series for an episode in April, and in terms of what we will see from him, get ready to see Lewis at the center of a story regarding a young girl’s abduction. What is the endgame here? Him attempting to get closer to Benson, and drawing her into his grasp. This is his obsession, and he just cannot seem to let it go following the events in the traumatic premiere and that recent courtroom episode.

The one thing that we are pleased to see here when it comes to this story is that there does not appear to be a pressing need to delay Lewis’ return until the finale in May. We don’t really need him to serve as a bookend for this season, mostly because he wouldn’t really bring anything new to the table at this point other than more drama and a sense of constant dread. Schreiber has done a great job in what has been a pretty difficult role to play, but we do admit that we would be more than fine of this April episode is the character’s final appearance.
