‘Psych’ season 8, episode 9 preview: First look at last episode before series finale
It’s tough as a “Psych” fan sitting here and knowing that the end of the series is almost upon us, but that is the truth now. There are only two more episodes of the show left to air, and “Nightmare on State Street” at least seems to be one that is going to make us smile.
Years ago James Roday said to us in an interview that he wanted to see the characters visit one another’s dreams, given that this is one of the few things that they hand’t quite done already. We never quite knew if he was joking or not, but based on the fact that we just got an episode about a similar subject, we’re kind of excited to see this dream (ahem) become a reality. Just take a look at the synopsis below:
“Gus has been suffering from terrifying nightmares, so he goes to dream therapy to help alleviate the problem. But Gus’ nightmares start to feel like reality when he and Shawn work to solve an unlikely case for the SBPD. Throughout the case, Gus dreams about battling zombies and other classic horror story characters–all while trying to cope with the many changes the future is bringing.”
The last part of this is probably what you should be the most interested in knowing, and it at least feels like now the show is being set up for a series final rather than just an abrupt ending. Are things moving a little too quick for our taste now? Probably, but what else can you do? The show knew during the filming process last summer that the end was near, and they had to make do with the amount of time given to them.
For now, just be sure to share some of your predictions about next week’s episode below. Also, be sure to sign up now if you want to get even more updates courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter.
