‘The Big Bang Theory’ renewed through season 10; no deals for Kaley Cuoco, cast yet

Here it is -The Big Bang Theory” is now poised to be the biggest sitcom on TV for a few more years.

In a massive announcement today that many within the industry smelled coming a mile away, CBS announced that they have renewed the show through its tenth season, which basically ensures that there will be three more years of the show and around 70 more episodes. The also means that the show will past the 200 mark, and last even longer than another current CBS hit in “How I Met Your Mother,” which is ending on March 31 after nine seasons on the air.

In a statement announcing the news, CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler was of course thrilled about the fact that the ratings monster has secured more of its future:

“Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television. This multiyear deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We’re proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of [executive producers] Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week.”

The work is still not done, though, when it comes to making sure that “The Big Bang Theory” cast is ready to rock and roll for next season. There are still negotiations underway with the big three stars in Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, and they are all expected to get deals that earn them close to $1 million an episode. Meanwhile, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg will also negotiate their own raises together, while Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik are each still under contract. Given that the show is already renewed, there is no reason to think that these contracts are not going to get done. Everyone loves money, right?
