‘Call the Midwife’ season 3 finale spoilers: Jessica Raine’s Jenny and episode 8 shockers

It may seem as though “Call the Midwife” has just begun, but next week, the series comes to a close on the BBC for the time being. There is already another season ordered, so you can watch it without the trepidation that this is the last one that you will be seeing.

So what is coming up here? Based on the preview that aired at the end of tonight’s episode, you will see one character deal with sickness, Shelagh continue to deal with troubles related to her adoption (and the snags brought up courtesy of Dr. Turner), and Jenny will be dealing with something that she certainly did not expect at all. Take a look at the full synopsis below for more details:

“As preparations are made for Chummy to nurse her dying mother at home, Jenny finds herself drawn to help. Whilst Shelagh and Dr Turner await news from the Adoption Society, Shelagh pulls out all the stops when she enters her choir into a competition.”

We wonder if there is a certain part of Jenny’s desire to help in this situation that is brought on courtesy of what she recently went through on her own with Alec. After all, it would make a great deal of sense that she would be compelled to help someone else deal with death, given that this is not something that she really received any sort of advanced preparation for at all. She has been through the absolute worst, and as she recovers, she may find some comfort in being a shoulder to lean on.
