‘Game of Thrones’ season 4: Emilia Clarke on filming, friendship with Rose Leslie
Emilia Clarke is one of many who have taken the world by storm thanks to “Game of Thrones,” and she has gotten the opportunity to do quite a few big gigs thanks to her time on the show. This includes appearing on Broadway, filming some movie roles, and also actually having a presence in Los Angeles … even if she films on the complete other side of the world.
So do you want to learn some more specifics about just what she goes through in order to become Danaerys every day? Speaking in a new interview with Glamour Paris, she explains that her filming days are long and arduous, and the preparation (including the makeup and the wig) cause her to be up at the same time that a good many young partygoers end up going to bed:
“The entire season begins filming in June until December, touring Morocco, Iceland, Croatia and Ireland. When we start we get the whole story so we know who’s going to go where. [Laughs]. In general, I arrive on the set at 3am. A hard day’s filming on average is 12 to 18 hours because there is a lot of preparation in my case.”
Even though Clarke does not really get to work with that many of the other main characters on the show, she did say that she is actually “best friends” with Rose Leslie, who plays the Wilding Ygritte. Leslie, in turn, has spent most of her time on the show filming with Kit Harrington, who you otherwise know as Jon Snow.

I hope Daenerys wears red sometime this season. She wears too much blue, in my opinion it washes her out.
