‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: A deeper dive into the ‘Wizard of Oz’ world

Wicked Witch -“The Wizard of Oz” is clearly going to be a pretty major inspiration for “Once Upon a Time” season 3, and you see that more and more with almost every story that is coming out right now. We have already heard, for example, that Oz itself will be featured on the show, and both the Wicked Witch Zelana and Glinda the Good Witch have already been cast.

So what’s the latest sign of a major Oz – “Once Upon a Time” presence on the show next season? Think along the lines of a brand-new episode title. In a new post on his Twitter account, show executive producer Adam Horowitz confirmed that the premiere is going to carry with it the name “Kansas.” Clearly, this one does not really need any explanation at all, though we are a little bit curious as to who exactly could be Dorothy in this messed-up world. This is not the first time that a real-life location has been the title of an episode; there was previously one entitled “Tallahassee” that was a nice little throwback to “Lost” fans, and then there is also “New York City Serenade,” which will be the show’s March 9 return.

The Wicked Witch, played by Rebecca Mader, is believed by most to be the Big Bad for the season. The only mystery that really remains at the moment with that is whether or not she has some sort of unknown connection to the current cast that could actually change things in a substantial matter. Luckily, we’ll find out soon, given that March 9 is really not so far away at all.
