‘Dancing with the Stars’: ‘The Bachelor’s’ Juan Pablo Galavis likely out of contention
If you are the reigning “Bachelor,” and you happen to show an interest in dance, then you basically have to find a way to talk executives out of hiring you to do “Dancing with the Stars” immediately after your show ends. Even Jake Pavelka, despite picking Vienna Girardi in one of the show’s most-hated endings ever, managed to still somehow get an invitation to the ballroom.
With all of this in mind, it really lets you know just how badly Juan Pablo Galavis may have screwed up to cost himself an invitation to be on the show. According to E! News, executives over at ABC have decided seemingly against booking Juan Pablo on the show next season, with the major reason being that they feel like he is far too much of a “risk” given some of his recent comments. He has not been a particular likable Bachelor, and his comments about not being in favor of a gay Bachelor have been met with widespread criticism.
The irony here is that Juan Pablo probably wanted to do this show more than any other person who has ever appeared as the star of the show, and now that may be taken away from him. Is it possible that someone else could still be hired for the gig? We assume that it’s possible, but we feel like it would be more likely that producers would go after someone like Desiree Hartsock, who was at least mostly likable as “The Bachelorette” (even if a little boring). If we were casting, we’d also think about asking Sean Lowe’s new wife Catherine Giudici given that he went through it last year.
If you were ABC, would you try to get someone from “The Bachelor” on “Dancing with the Stars,” or feel much more strongly at this point that it is time to move on? Share your thought below, and sign up now for our CarterMatt Newsletter to get some more TV news sent straight to your email.
