‘Under the Dome’ season 2 spoilers: When does filming begin?
There are not too many opportunities that we get out there to discuss “Under the Dome” in March, but we are getting the opportunity to do that today courtesy of one message from series star Mike Vogel. Why does it pertain to? A little something known as when the show is going to go back into production for some more episodes.
Specifically, the actor said on Twitter that Monday will mark the first official day of filming, which works well in line with some of the casting announcements that we have heard as of late. The show has put forth the effort in order to ensure that they have all the right new cast members on board, and they now can start getting to work on producing some more great episodes.
The first of 13 new installments of the show will air on CBS in June, and the challenge should be apparent here right away: Trying to sell the show as more of a series than just a limited event. We worry that this show will run into the same problem as “The Following,” at least in that there seem to be limitations within the premise. Eventually, you’re going to stop meeting people in the dome! We do still feel optimistic that there are stories left to tell, and it will probably just depend on the way in which they are written and presented to us.
CBS is banking on the success of this show, and are using it even as inspiration for some other programs on the schedule. After all, the network has also greenlit another series airing this summer in “Extant,” featuring the talents of one Halle Berry.
