‘Survivor: Cagayan’ premiere: Watch the first four minutes now! (video)

Have you cleared your schedule tonight for some “Survivor“? We certainly hope so, since there’s a pretty great opportunity to enjoy two episodes in a row of the new season. “Survivor: Cagayan” not only has that interesting “Brains vs. Beauty vs. Brawn” twist, but it has some big characters, a tropical setting, and of course the same game that you know and love without what you don’t love (Redemption Island, for example).

Want to watch the first four minutes of it now? Well, the video below provides you with that opportunity. The unfortunate thing about this is that these four minutes hardly provide you with anything in the way of content that you have not seen at some other point. There’s no mention of camp life or strategy; instead, it’s all about the various tribes arriving, and being told that they have been divided up based on three qualities that are “essential” in this game. (We still have no clue how beauty is really that important … or even brawn, given that some pretty non-brawny people have typically won.)

What we can at least hope for here is that there are a few things that haven’t been done before in the game, and that also the boot list is not entirely predictable. We don’t want to see all of the first three boots to be the weak challenge performers, or the winner to be some sort of alpha male all over again unless they really earn it.
