‘The Originals’ spoilers: Joseph Morgan on Klaus’ sense of betrayal, motivation

KlausDid you miss “The Originals” on TV? Well, let’s hope so, since you are going to get a pretty massive dosage of it over the next couple of months. There are many stories left to tell in New Orleans, and the one that you have tonight is going to be a significant one.

Over the past several weeks, we have focused pretty extensively on what some of the themes for this episode are going to be, in particular Rebekah’s own sense of loss and pain after being confronted with someone from her past in Genevieve. But perhaps somewhere along the line there was not enough attention given to some of what Klaus is going to be going through during this story. He is, after all, going to be facing the realization that Rebekah actually tried to bring the two’s father Mikael in to destroy him a full century ago. He has to come to terms with that.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the idea at the center of this story, Morgan teases that more than anything else, one thing that you can expect for these two when the story picks back up is that these actions by Rebekah could leave him more than hungry for payback:

“Klaus and Rebekah have both been captured. They’re not able to immediately deal with issues that they may have with each other. But I think the secrets she’s kept from him for a hundred years, when the truth about that comes out, he will certainly be needing some sort of revenge. That will not bode well for their relationship.”
