‘Survivor: Cagayan’ premiere preview: Jeff Probst on new tribes, dynamics
Are you ready for the premiere of “Survivor: Cagayan“? We hope so, since after a delay thanks to the Winter Olympics, the show is coming on Wednesday night.
CBS has released a pair of new preview videos for the season, and thanks to these we have a little more footage of some of the players, and the setup to the beginning of the game. However, at the same time there is quite a bit of footage in here in the event that you have already seen either the TVGN special or some of the interviews featuring Jeff Probst.
Sadly, these videos do include another mention of what could end up being known as the infamous “Tyler Perry rule.” Since when have we let a guy known for “Madea goes to jail” influence the direction of the show? For whatever reason, this is going to lead to an immunity that we really haven’t seen since the days of Yul Kwon dominating with it. Here’s our bold prediction: While we stand behind our claim that Tasha Fox is going to win this season, we also feel like whoever does end up with this idol basically has a free pass to the final five. It doesn’t add to the mystique of the game so much as it just makes things a little bit more predictable for whoever finds it.
Ultimately, let’s just hope that these episodes live up to expectations, and make this a much better season overall than “Survivor: One World,” which had an incredible winner in Kim Spradlin and a bunch of people who really didn’t know what they were doing.
