‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ review: Did NeNe Leakes, Kenya Moore go at it again?
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is a show that has long delivered the goods when it comes to entertainment … and it has also delivered plenty of drama. But who else is starting to think that the scales are getting tipped a little much in one direction?
Basically it feels like the past few episodes can be summed up as such: NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore aren’t getting along, and they have turned their little feud almost into a game of strategy to find ways to emotionally manipulate the other. Meanwhile, there is still some fallout from the pajama party of doom (as we like to call it), and it’s hard to find any of the men on this show particularly likable.
The truth of the matter is, it feels like this show is losing sight of what originally met it fun. There were fights, but they were mostly of the silly variety. There were also showcases of great wealth, and at least four or five moments that we genuinely rolled our eyes at. You don’t really get a whole lot of this on the show at this point. Instead, it just feels somewhat repetitive, and a little too serious given that it really introduces the phrase “throwing shade” to us for the first time.
In the end, we ironically want there to be a little less reality in this show at this point. After all, aren’t we really watching this to see how the other half lives? We can’t really see anyone being too upset about watching funny ways that rich people spend money. Cynthia Bailey is the housewife who at least wins the award this season for at least trying. Grade: C.
