‘Call the Midwife’ season 3, episode 7 preview: Is Jessica Raine’s Jenny back?
Next week’s episode of “Call the Midwife” is the penultimate one of the season, and we feel the need to start this one off with some pretty glorious news: There is no reason to worry about Jenny’s absence anymore! Jessica Raine will be back for this episode, and it’s at a perfect time given that things with newcomer Patsy at Nonnatus have not gone particularly well as of late.
Before we say anything else, let us start things off here by sharing the official synopsis for the episode via BBC One:
“As Jenny returns to Nonnatus House, her encounter with nervous first-time mum, Faye, forces her to break the rules. Chummy throws herself into preparations for her mother’s visit, whilst Sister Julienne and Cynthia deal with acute mental illness in a newly-delivered mother.”
In the preview that aired at the end of the new episode on Sunday night, we also had a few other little surprises that were hard to see coming in advance, whether you are talking about some of the drama between Shelagh and Patrick, Trixie’s romantic life continuing to pick up, and some drama that is going to carry over from what we saw this week. With there being such a limited time coming before we do make it to the season finale, one thing we know is that the intensity will be a new level. The show has to work on tying together some stories before the end, and also on ensuring that others still have somewhere to go for a likely fourth season.
What do you want to see happen on “Call the Midwife” next week? Be sure to share below.

As Mary says so glad Jenny is back this week, its not the same without her.
There is still so many ways the roles of call the midwife can be developed, would be nice to see Jenny and Sister Julienne relationship develop , Trixes relationship with the curate so many stories to develop

Not sure that this series has been up to the standard of the first two, apart from the one where Jenny loses Alec which was the most moving of any. The story lines feel a bit more “soap like” and are trying to cram too much into a one hour slot. After a few I was wishing this would be the last series so that it still ends on a relative high, but it doesn’t feel like it can or should end this season. One more season would be ideal and it should be written and made knowing that it will be the last one.
