NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 6 preview: Blake Shelton, Shakira talk new competition
Ready for things to get super-intense on “The Voice”? Well, you are just a little over a day away now from seeing it happen. The show looks to give you almost everything you would expect from its blind auditions this year. There will of course be some amazing performances, but in addition to that, you’re also going to have an opportunity to see the coaches go at it, joke around, and do whatever they can to sell themselves on being good performers.
Here are just a few overall expectations and feelings that we took from the official NBC video below.
1. The coaches are more competitive this year – Shakira said that she specifically felt it, even though there was a little bit more joking around.
2. Adam Levine is now the target – Usually, the coaches are all about trying to ensure that Blake Shelton doesn’t just steamroll them. This time around, it was a little bit more about making sure that Adam doesn’t dominate. The irony here is that when these auditions were filmed, it was not even known that Tessanne Chin was the winner of this season.
3. Shakira and Usher may have an alliance of sorts – Shakira does at least comment that the “Burn” singer was pretty nice to her throughout this entire process. What do we take this to mean? More than anything else, that they realize that they are birds of a feather that need to stick together. The two helping each other out is really one of the ways that they can ensure that they don’t get dominated.
