‘Bones’ season 9, episode 16 preview: First look at ‘The Source in the Sludge’
If you are a big-time fan of “Bones,” then you know already that this has been a long wait for new episodes in-season. Thanks to the Olympics, the show has been off of the air for some time, but when it does return, there may be some good news for you: It’s back on Mondays!
So what is the reason that we say “may” here? It’s ultimately somewhat complicated. From one vantage point, we like that the show is on a night where there are a great percentage of people watching TV; however, this is also a much more competitive period of time, where there is “The Bachelor” (and later “Dancing with the Stars”), “The Voice,” and the finale of “How I Met Your Mother.” We really liked the ratings it was pulling on Fridays, and would have been okay if it had stayed there.
Nonetheless, what we can tell you about the upcoming 16th episode of the season is that it airs on March 10, is entitled “The Source in the Sludge,” and the promo below makes it look like we are on the cusp of seeing a pretty fun time. Unfortunately, there’s really not anything in the way of significant scoop in here, and we suppose that Fox will wait on that until we are a little bit closer to the show actually airing.
As for what you can look forward to with the show long-term, we would assume that the Ghost Killer storyline will at least pop up at some point again by the end of this season. If next year really is the end for the show (which has been heavily suggested), the writers would be well-served to tee up a great villain that could terrorize everyone on the show then.
