‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 to have separate ‘Wicked Is Coming’ special

Wicked Witch -If there is a single day in which we would advise just about any TV fan out there to set their DVR, it would be on Sunday, March 3. This is going to be a crazy night of programming, at least in between the arrival of “Once Upon a Time” and “Revenge” back to TV, the return of “Resurrection,” “The Walking Dead” having another episode on AMC, and also the lineup of “The Good Wife” and “The Mentalist” coming back.

Luckily, one timeslot that will not have any distractions at all is at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, and that means that you have no real excuse to not check out “Once Upon a Time: Wicked Is Coming.” While this is part recap special and has a name that actually reminds us more of “Game of Thrones” than anything, this hour will feature some interviews with the cast and crew, and prepare you properly in case you have forgotten some of what happened during the first part of the season.

For more, just take a look at the full synopsis released by ABC:

“ABC invites new and devoted “Once Upon a Time” viewers to take another look at this popular fantasy series in the new special, ‘Once Upon a Time: Wicked is Coming,’ which will explore the show in a way that will bring new viewers up to date — but which current viewers will also find illuminating – in anticipation of the exciting midseason return. The special will take a look at the role that family plays in the show, our heroes’ journey from breaking the curse to the ramifications of magic in our world, travelling to Neverland to save Henry from an evil Peter Pan, and their upcoming battle with The Wicked Witch of the West. Interviews with the cast and executive producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz help tell the story of ‘Once Upon a Time: Wicked is Coming.”

Following this special, the first of 11 back-to-back episodes of the show begins. While we understand the frustration over the long wait for new episodes, there’s another part of us that loves the move that ABC made here. No longer does the show have to slog through those weeks where there are awards shows every few days in February, and you can never keep track of when it is airing, and when it is not.
