‘King of the Nerds’ episode 6 rankings: Can the purple team defeat the Jack – Zack attack?

Jack -So last week we were a little off when it came to our “King of the Nerds” season 2 rankings as we thought that Katie was sitting pretty with the support of the Purple team in her back pocket and Zack being the usual target to go into the Nerd Off, but Jack Hou completely threw the purple team for a loop when he and Zack formed up to kick Katie out of Nerdvana. Can the last two remaining members of the gold team pick apart the purple team?

Our rankings this week are based on TV edit, strategy, likability, performances in the various tasks and also we are pretty sure the teams will be officially dismantled this week which should theoretically change the game (although we are not convinced that the purple team will stop working together). Also these are just for fun and not based on any spoilers.

6. Chris Jackson (last week 3): Oh Chris… We love Chris, we really do (Pop Pop), we just wonder if his strategy last week to try to keep Katie in the game was really that great of a move. He basically offered Jack a no win deal saying that if he puts Katie in the Nerd Off then the purple team was going to put him in against her because they think he’s weak, on the other hand if he put in Zack, the purple team was going to put Jack in anyway, but they’d help him study (like Jack needs help studying.) Jack basically told Chris to stick his deal where the sun don’t shine, and also picked Chris as the person he wanted to give electric shocks to during the Nerd Off in his attempt to show Chris that he’s not a push over. Chris has been a target since day one being that he was the team leader, he’s smart and he’s incredibly strategic and now everyone in Nerdvana knows it.

5. Zachary Storch (last week 7): Zack has been a target all season, but not only has he made a real ally in Jack (making him part of the one-two punch we are now calling The Jack-Zack Attack), he is also a challenge beast when it’s one on one and with the teams likely being dismantled this week we can see Zack going on a winning streak again. He’s shown us he can do it three weeks in a row, what’s to stop him from doing that again?

4. Kayla LaFrance (last week 5): Being that Kayla and being the last woman left in the competition we wonder if that pressure is going to get to her or if it is going to push her to try even harder (we suspect it will motivate her to kick some nerd-you-know-what!) The purple team has been a great support for each other, but with the team play probably being over this week we aren’t confident that a lot of those players will do well on their own. We think that Kayla will rise to the occasion being that she’s a smart cookie and everyone likes her, but at the same time we could see her being a casualty of a Nerd War.

3. Xander Jeanneret (last week 4): We’ve said this many times about Xander, but we’ll say it again: He’s such a likable guy and we can see that being a huge advantage as no one is really going to want to send him home, but could it also be a disadvantage? No one knows how this game is going to be won this season, but if it has any element of a jury vote (like last season) then no one will want to go up against Xander: He’s completely adorkable and wouldn’t be easy to beat in a popularity contest.

2. Brian Davidson (last week 2): Brian and his glorious chest hair are in a pretty good position to make it to the finals, but if he doesn’t do something to make himself stand out as a challenge contender soon he’ll have trouble winning the whole show. He’s a great team player, but what’s going to happen to him when there are no longer teams?

1. Jack Hou (last week 6): Doesn’t everyone love a good underdog story? Jack has been quietly working behind the scenes most of the season as he avoided conflict and stayed under the radar until last week when Chris put him directly in the cross-hairs. Once Jack’s back was up against the wall he came out swinging and pushed the purple team back for thinking he was weak and gullible. We’ve seen Jack win a Nerd Off and he’s got a real partnership with Zack who is strong at winning challenges, so he’s in a way better position then he’s been in all season.
